Sunday 22nd of June 2025
In case anyone felt like they were lacking in Nottingham exploration after Goose Ball, we headed back there for Rally Front to Back - or did we head front there? Summer Rally took place from the 20th-22nd June, with the option to stay an extra night until the Monday too.
This was a Rally that lent very heavily into their theme, and it paid off! We had tea for breakfast (fajitas on Saturday and bangers and mash on Sunday) and breakfast for tea (sausage butties, fry-ups, and jacket potatoes - which maybe stretched the limit of what could be called breakfast!). In back-to-front fashion, Reps took place during Saturday teatime, our closing ceremony was on Saturday morning, and our opening ceremony was on Sunday… with beginnings and endings switched all over the weekend programme, it took some thought to wrap your head around!
On Saturday everyone headed into Nottingham or off on a hike, before returning to site to watch the return of a time-honoured tradition - gunging Team Pink! After that and tea, we ceilidhed as hard as you’d hope, then rolled straight into a campfire and a silent disco run by Diamond Reunion committee.
Sunday had trips offsite to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park and nearby Calverton car boot sale, while those staying onsite enjoyed(?) the scorching sun and kicked back for the day, doing some wide games before another silent disco, another fire, and another great night!
The weekend also saw two contests for possession of the Gadaffy Plate, held at the start of Rally by LSSAGO. StinGS challenged them to a game of skill, catapulting Roses chocolates into a bucket in a very Lancashire vs Yorkshire-themed battle, losing 2-0. BUSAG then challenged them to a competition of… less skill, with both teams racing to eat an entire viennetta without using their hands. BUSAG took proud possession of the Plate on Sunday evening, and it has remained with them uncontested to date. If you’re reading this, this is your sign!
